Gills forced into making changes

Gillingham will be forced into making changes for Good Friday’s clash with Bristol Rovers as they look to climb back into the play-off picture.

The starting eleven will see at least one new face with striker Jo Kuffour to miss the game against his old club with a knee injury that has plagued him for some time now.

Whether Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler replaces him with another striker is open to conjecture, with both Rowan Vine and Ashley Miller options.

Vine’s two goals against Folkestone Invicta on Monday night have probably given Hessenthaler food for thought.

However, Hessenthaler may look to employ Danny Kedwell as a lone striker with the likes of Dennis Oli and Danny Spiller keen to return to the starting line up in supporting roles.

Saturday’s clean sheet against Macclesfield will almost certainly see the back four stay intact, with Danny Jackman set to continue in his preferred midfield role.

There will also be changes on the bench with Jordan Obita having ended his loan spell at Priestfield and returned to Championship side Reading.

Whoever plays this weekend, Gillingham have got two games in 72 hours to show that they are still promotion candidates.

A lot could be won or lost over the weekend with Dagenham & Redbridge coming to Priestfield on Easter Monday.
